      October 27–November 2 | Tray Prototype

October 27–November 2 | Material and Light Exploration

This week, my focus shifted from the planned tray prototype to exploring stone-working techniques and how different materials interact with light. I experimented with combining UV resin and botanical elements, as well as engraving patterns onto the stone’s surface, to investigate texture, translucency, and the object’s appearance when lit and unlit.

The tray prototype has not yet been completed, and its form remains undecided. I am continuing these material experiments to inform the relationship between the illuminated stone and its eventual base.

Next step: Compare the material tests and use the findings to guide the tray’s form and its relationship to the stone.
